Our History

After an extensive remodel in December of 2018, this location was reopened as our fourth Matt’s Automotive Service Center. Our South Fargo location services many of our frontline workers from Essentia Healthcare down the street.

Was very quick to respond and the receptionist was amazing. The service I paid for ended up coming with "pay for another service and we'll tell you the problem" recommendations which I wasn't happy with. Overall gave it to me straight and didn't actually push any specific repair on me. Good shop. But a bit expensive for actually figuring out the issues you brought it there for.

Really like the how techy everything is. After dropping the car, they just sent me a text message with a link with the prognosis and recommendations and accepted/denied the services I needed and then bom! It was quickly done! Will come back for sure.

They listened to what I asked for, didn't give/suggest extra things that I didn't need done, and provided options that would actually help my vehicle last a little longer. I.e. they didn't get extra $ and I didn't get unneeded work done. This is something that tells me I can Trust this business to take care of the work that has to be done. Trust is a commodity that you can lose quickly, but it is worth it all the more if it is gained through good work!

All I wanted was to have my rear brakes, looked at and fixed. Passenger side rear was very noisy. What I first got was a $40 charge just to look at the problem. And with that they took the front tires off and looked at the front brakes even though I had told them front brakes were just replaced six months ago. I was not listened to and wasted time and effort I have to pay for the result. Also, they were unwilling to replace just the one rear caliper that had seized and required I do both which I did not want to do. Their work done appears to be good but I would call it high priced. I won’t be back.

I can appreciate the customer service at Matt’s auto, everyone was always super nice and I like that we can text as a form of communication. But..There was a loud noise coming from the rear end of my car when I took it in about 3 months ago. I knew the noise I was looking to fix was not the breaks as I further told them they need to drive the car around to hear the said noise. A few hours later they ensure me it’s the breaks that need to be replaced and everything should be good to go, I followed through with buying the breaks because they said “they were metal on metal”. But obviously I get in my car a few hours later and it’s still making the noise. I go back a couple of days ago to fix again the noise I originally came in for. They finally find that it’s the rear rotors, which they have to look at when changing my rear breaks. So I paid double the amount of labor cost than I should have when it should have been an easier fix than it was. I will say they gave me half off the labor for the rotors which was appreciated but at the end of the day I believe I should not have paid for labor at all. So after picking up my car the last time I drive from Matt’s to my work where my car was parked for 4 hours. I turn my car on to head home, and there are 8 different lights on, my break is stiff and I can barely turn the stirring wheel. So I call Matt’s back and explain to them what’s happening and they essentially say that it was nothing they did, which how can that be when this NEW problem was never a problem to begin with. I’ve never left a mean review for any business but at the end of the day this situation is ridiculous, I spent all of this money for them to FIX my car when now I can’t even drive it. Thankyou and I’m sorry for being rude but at the end of the day it’s the truth.

My wife and I came to Fargo for a wedding, and after 15 hours on the road, our vehicle’s bottom plate had come loose. It was a Friday afternoon and we needed a repair done before Monday. Matt’s auto service got our car in quick to take a look and had us back on the road in less than an hour!! We are so grateful for the service and affordability of the repair!! It is refreshing to find a shop that is both honest and helpful, especially when we were from out of town!!

I've been going here as a new driver for about 2 years now. They do an inspection of everything then send you a list online that show pictures, how important it is that something be fixed, a price estimate with a breakdown, and you can accept or deny it right on your phone. They are very transparent and just super super nice. They got a good waiting room as well. Good prices and great atmosphere. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I went in on a whim to get mud flaps installed, it was no issue without an appointment. It took one hour and was reasonably priced.Everyone was polite, professional and engaging.I would recommend Matt’s to anyone, anytime!

I needed new headlight bulbs for my Lincoln and Google took me to Matt's Automotive Service Center and I got my bulbs changed, transmission fluid flushed, new battery and tires 35 lbs. of air all the way around and have been happy with my car and how it runs. I highly recommend Matt's Automotive Services Center for your car needs. Fast, friendly and professional service.

Horrible service and made me pay for services they didn't perform which was power steering flush and thought I wouldn't check myself which I did and then they said oh sorry also fuel pump was switched and after 1000$ just to have car run worst after words ,when I drove off car was pouring gas out from tank due to them not reinstalling correctly

I called one morning desperate to find someone to do a last minute oil change, while they did not have any availability that same day, I was able to use one of their loner vehicles because I had some service lights on the dash that I was concerned about. Super helpful, kind and straight forward. I also liked how the estimates were on an platform with comments, notes and prices where I could confirm or deny the services. I recommend to anybody who will listen. Thank you!

Very friendly service. I had to return the day after my initial appointment because I picked up a screw in a tire and they were very helpful in getting my tire repaired because I had an out of town trip coming up.

Brought my new used car for a once-over. Not only did they find several aspects needing attention, they fixed my sunroof that opened but would not go up & down; it now works perfectly. The fee paid for this visit was nominal for the work rendered. I will be going to Matt’s again when the need arises.

They were very communicative throughout the entire process and figured out what was wrong after a dealership was unable to do so. Also, the charge for services was reasonable. I will recommend them highly in the future to anybody. This was my first experience with Matt's.

I had a headlight out. And a very busy week for my daughter, they worked with me on a time, kept me updated on progress, and let me know when complete. I knew I had a few other items to be done, and they weren't pushy on those, rather giving me an estimate and allowed me to choose. I now have a plan to get those taken care of as well, without pressure or fear. I've went to them for 4 years now, and the work and communication they provide is what keeps me returning. I'm a single vehicle, single parent home, and I need to know my vehicle is safe and secure for my little one. And they have calmed my nerves and made each experience a great one!

My vehicle was acting up and at first they couldn't tell me what the problem was. They put it through their most diagnostic "physical" as they called it. It showed anything and everything that was wrong. Even any lights that I would never have noticed were out. They needed a couple days to fix my vehicle. I'm busy and couldn't be left without a vehicle. So, they were nice enough to give me a loaner as long as I had full Coverage insurance, which I did. I got my vehicle back and it works like a charm. Their prices were reasonable and I got it back when promised. I would definitely feel good about using them again or sending a family member to them!!

Always overpriced compared to anywhere else I look for a service at. Can complete a simple service without changing the price. Came in knowing what was wrong and what I wanted fixed was offered several other services for thousands of dollars more. Go somewhere else.

This location was excellent to work with. Came in with an emergency problem on short notice. They were able to get my car looked at in under an hour. I sincerely appreciate the great service!

My experience with Matt's on 32nd avenue was fantastic! Both gentlemen whom I had the pleasure of meeting were polite, knowledgeable and informative. They patiently explained what the problem was and how they intended to repair it. My old car has been operating well ever since. I would not hesitate to return to Matt's and would highly recommend their services to anyone who is in need of a car repair! A great job!!!!
