Training 2023
We as a company closed all 10 of our locations and brought everyone to our Moorhead location for 3 packed days of training and development of our teams. We had Emmy award winning speaker Mark Scharenbroich kick off our event, followed by training sessions for our technicians to allow them to grow and develop their skills. We also had sessions for our managers and advisors to better assist our guests & each other. We want all of our team members to grow and become not only better team members, but also better people.

We want to encourage our local, young entrepreneurs! Car Giveaway
Matt donated a car to a deserving young mother! When she brought in her car to see us, our technicians found that the vehicle’s repairs were beyond the value of the vehicle. After hearing her story Matt decided that she had a bright future that he was willing to invest in and wanted her and her children to be safe on the road.

2022

Giving Hearts Day

As part of a continual improvement program at Fargo, North Dakota-based Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), Giving Hearts Day arose in 2008 as a simple but unique fundraising concept: Around Valentine’s Day, ask people to show affection to not only people they love but charities, too. In the decade-plus since, the event has gone on to become one of the longest-running and most successful giving days in the country, providing a platform for North Dakota and northwest Minnesota charities to raise nearly $165 million.

Kids Fest

Kids Fest at Island Park is filled with music, laughter and bright colors as children play and learn. We joined in on the festivities to provide fun games for the kids. We also wanted to get out and show our support for our local communities! The fest hosts interactive educational booths, life-sized games, an entertainment stage, petting zoo, strolling entertainment and more.

Sweetheart Ball

The Sweetheart Ball is always a special evening. In 2022 the Ball extended a heartfelt invitation to join us as Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley celebrates 40 years of helping sick kids and their families. At the Ball we honor the brave families who have called our house a home and celebrate the generous hearts that make our mission possible.Funds raised at this event directly benefit families with critically ill children receiving medical care in Fargo. Your support provides a place to stay, the amenities of home, a stocked pantry, hot meals, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and a place to feel safe and comfortable when a family is facing the uncertainty a medical diagnosis brings.

Pride in the Park

Pride in the Park has over 100 booths of vendors, merchants, business services, and more! We joined in on the festivities of fun for the whole family like carnival games & prizes, face painting, and treats. There was live music throughout the day from local artists as well. The Pride in the Park event is a one-stop shop for all things Pride swag so make sure to check it out!

United Way Golf Scramble

The best way to golf is when everybody wins! The UNITED Fore Kids Golf Scramble is a fun get-together with your friends and/or coworkers to enjoy a round of golf, all while supporting programs that help our local kids in poverty succeed.
32nd Paws Walk
We were so happy to join this family, friends, and furry companions to show our support in the community. This is a fundraising event for the homeless cats and dogs of Homeward Animal Shelter. All proceeds directly benefit the shelter animals; providing them with food, shelter, and veterinary care while they await their forever homes. We always want to help our community specially those who can’t fight for themselves! We had a tail-waggin good time.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
This year we sent out a sign up and got everyone at Matt’s to volunteer in ringing the bell and asking for donations which go towards supporting the organization’s various charitable programs. We wanted to do something different than we have done in the past years. We wanted to do something that would impact millions of people.

2021

Year Long Food Drive

Matt’s Automotive is a supporter of the Emergency Food Pantry. For over 40 years, the Emergency Food Pantry has helped feed people in Cass and Clay counties in times of crisis, unemployment, fire, family violence, medical problems, and other difficult situations. The pantry provides hungry families and individuals with wholesome food to tide them over during these times of emergency. By doing so, the Emergency Food Pantry is fighting hunger in our communities, providing healing to families, and giving hope. In 2021 Matt’s Automotive did a yearlong food drive to help wipe out hunger in our community. *Bring in 1 full paper grocery bag of non-perishable food and receive a free oil change up to 5 quarts. Moorhead Cruise Night is a monthly gathering of motor vehicle enthusiasts in downtown Moorhead, Minnesota, with food, music, and an exciting family friendly atmosphere. We set up a table to show support and connect with local motor enthusiasts.

Kindred Community Days

The Kindred Community Club is a proud organizer of the annual Kindred Days event. A weekend full of fun and events for families and folks of all ages!

Single Parent Strong
The fourth annual Single Parent Strong was hosted in 2020. On this day, Matt’s partnered with businesses in the local community to offer free oil changes to single parents. We also offered some fun outdoor games for the kids!

Brightening a Customer’s Spirits

Helping a member of the Matt’s Family.

When we say you’re apart of the Matt’s family, we mean it! One of our loyal customers came in not too long ago to get some work done on their F-150 and as we always enjoy hearing what is going on their lives, we got some saddening news from Jeff and Rachel. Their son, Adam, was in the hospital and it was not a good situation. Vern, our General Manager, let our team know and we wanted to do something to brighten Adam’s spirits. As we learned a little more about what Adam was going through, we knew we wanted to make sure he was comfortable and had some entertainment as he was going home. We gave them a Matt’s Auto blanket, a water bottle, and some games! We hope he has been able to play games, had lots of laughs, and enjoys his holiday weekend. Adam and his family are in our thoughts and prayers and we are so honored to have them as a part of the Matt’s Family.

National Go Fishing Day

Sanford Children’s Hospital Donation

Earlier this year, Matt and his wife were able to take a trip to Mexico thanks to Dakota Wholesale Tire and Tires Only, along with other tire dealers from the surrounding area. During this trip, there was a super fun scavenger hunt where the top 2 winners would get $1,000 to donate to any charity of their choice. Matt was one of those winners and decided he wanted to give his donation to Sanford Children’s Fargo. In June, we were able to meet with a couple of staff members and give them the donation. Thank you to all your staff and everything you do for the children!

National Cheese Day

Want to hear something cheesy? It was National Cheese Day on June 4th! Our team agreed that the best way to celebrate was to throw some bread in the mix and make some grilled cheese for an afternoon snack! You could even say they were “grate”!

Armed Forces Day

HONORING OUR LOCAL HEROES

In honor of Armed Forces Day, our social media followers shared with us photos of their favorite veteran or current active duty military member. By doing this, they were entered to select a charity that Matt’s Automotive can donate to that benefits courageous veterans. Larry K. was nominated and chose the charity Hometown Hero Outdoors. National Nurse Appreciation Day

Matt’s Automotive wanted to celebrated National Nurses Day by rewarding some special nurses in the F-M area with a free lunch on us! We partnered with Frank’s Lounge and Texas Roadhouse to give Kaylee S. and Jenny A. a free lunch to them and three of their co-workers. Our whole Matt’s Automotive team appreciates everything you do for the community to keep us safe and healthy. You have been our heroes long before this pandemic came along.

National Teacher Appreciation Day

May 5th was National Teacher Appreciation Day! We wanted to give a shout out to all the amazing teachers out there and show our appreciation! Our social media followers nominated their favorite teacher to win some great Matt’s Swag and a free oil change. We were happy to announce Melissa L. was the recipient of our gift.

Mother’s Day Celebration

For Mother’s Day, we wanted to say thanks to all the amazing moms out there! Our social media followers posted their favorite picture of their mom and told us why she was so amazing to enter her to receive a special Mother’s Day gift from Matt’s Auto. The gift consisted of an awesome spa package from Elite Therapeutic Massage & Health Partners, a Matt’s wine cooler, a bottle of wine, and a Matt’s pull bag. Rayden’s Creations

SUPPORTING OUR NEXT ENTREPRENEURS

Matt and the team made one little entrepreneur very happy when we ordered some products from Rayden’s Creations. When his mother participated in our 2019 Day of Service, we were so excited to hear that her son had created his own business, selling chapsticks and bath bombs, with a portion of the proceeds going to Homeward Animal Shelter. We were so happy to help support our young entrepreneurs and look forward to seeing your company, Rayden’s Creations, grow!
Cares for Kids Radiothon
Sanford Health hosted a local radiothon in support of the childrens hospital. This event was to raise money to help fund unique programs, provide education, and purchase lifesaving equipment to save and transform lives here in the Fargo-Moorhead Area. We love getting to show our support for events like this and every dollar raised went towards a great cause!

COOKIE BAKE

Our team got together to bake over 300 cookies for first responders and local businesses in the Fargo Moorhead Area! We appreciate all the work they do during the holiday season and the time they take away from their families to take care of all of us, so we enjoyed getting to show them our appreciation – and bake a little too!

CLAY COUNTY K9 FUNDRAISER

We participated in helping Clay County add a second K9 to their department. It was an awesome concert put on by the TAK Music Venue featuring Rick Adams!

WOMEN REACH

We had the pleasure of hosting John Deere Electronic Solution’s WomenREACH Annual Event. In the type of weather we live in, the more you know about your vehicle the better. Our Knowledge is Power seminar is in fact to give you power over your vehicle. It’s always a great day when you can learn more about cars!

SINGLE PARENT STRONG

The third annual Single Parent Strong was hosted on September 28th. On this day, Matt’s partnered with businesses in the local community to offer free oil changes to single parents. We also offered some fun outdoor games for the kids!

BRIDGE BASH
The Bridge Bash was a Moorhead event celebrating the students in the area coming back to town! We were the 2019 event sponsor and had so much fun getting to meet the students, listen to live music, and eat food from the local food trucks.

CCRI TABLESCAPES FUNDRAISER EVENT

We attended CCRI’s Annual Tablescapes Fundraiser Event to help search for ways to promote independence and for ways to solve the workforce crisis. This year’s focus was technology. Their newest program, Independent by Design, (IBD) melds technology with care-giving and the results are impressive.

SANFORD CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Matt’s Automotive and Froggy 99.9 partnered to deliver a check to the Sanford Children’s Hospital. We’ve always loved being able to contribute to the community and the Sanford Children’s Hospital will always have a special place in our heart.

ADDIE’S PRINCESS CUPCAKES
Addie’s Royal Cupcake Stand is a charity that supports the Sunshine Foundation. Addie’s goal was to give back to this foundation after it made her dreams come true in 2013. In 2019, she raised $7,235.51! We loved being able to support Addie and this awesome foundation!

EAT UNITED FOOD TRUCK EVENT

Our team got together to support the United Way of Cass-Clay and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota at their Food Truck Feed. We love coming together to support organizations we believe in

SOFTBALL TEAM

Our 2019 Softball team had a blast every Thursday night getting a chance to be a team in and out of the workplace.

10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

In June 2019, we officially celebrated 10 years of being in business as Matt’s Automotive. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by having a rock concert! We had Unleashed!, Slaughter and Warrant perform, local food trucks and drinks to go around. It was an awesome way for us to thank the community for a great 10 years.

2018

DAY OF SERVICE
Our 2018 Day of Service was on November 23rd. We received hundreds of nominations from the community. As a result, 10 members of the Fargo-Moorhead Community received up to $1,500 in vehicle repairs – how awesome!

Over the holidays, we went out and delivered treats to F-M first responders to thank them for all the extra hours they put in keeping our community safe. We want them to know that their extra hard work is not going unnoticed!
